Series of lino prints contributing to the publication Lenin: The Heritage We (Don’t) Renounce (Daraja Press, 2024), edited by Hjalmar Jorge Joffre-Eichhorn and Patrick Anderson.

The prints each address a different stage in relating to the legacy of Lenin in Finland: numerous travels the actual Lenin (Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov) made in Finland in early 1900s aided by Finnish anti-Tsarists; official commemoration culture in post-WW2 Finland; discreetly hiding the Lenin-statues in post-1989 era; officially erasing any traces of Lenin commemoration after Russia’s invasion in Ukraine in February 2022 & Finland’s membership in NATO.

Lenin: The Heritage We (Don’t) Renounce brings together 100+ authors and visual artists from 50+ countries across the world – from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe – in order to critically commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the death of Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, aka Lenin, on 21 January 1924.
